Powder coating colors have been developed continuously for more than half a century (or much more if you include the cosmetic applications). The original system in which the thermoplastic polyamide powders or vinyl are applied by fluidized bed has been reduced to a niche product in a market dominated by thermosetting powder applied by spraying; with radiation curing also occupies a significant market position. Various proposals have been submitted to processes that avoid these problems, but so far have not had a major impact. How effective pigment dispersion is in an extruder depends on the type of pigment. The evidence on the dispersion of iron oxide and blanc fixe a commercial polyester powder using an oxygen plasma to expose the particles within a cured coating, the dispersion showed quite efficient, with an average particle size of 0 , 8 microns for the iron oxide 2.1μm and the blanc fixed; 1, but the situation is more problematic organic pigments, which can lead to reduced optical efficiency. On the contrary, the court developed is too high for many effect pigments. Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free flowing dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and the filler parts in a liquid suspension. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured by heat to allow it to flow and form a “skin.” Dust can be a thermoplastic or thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating metals, such as “china”, aluminium extrusions, and automobile parts and bicycles. Newer technologies allow other materials such as MDF (fibreboard medium density) to be powder coated using different methods.

The powder coating process uses finely ground particles that melt and fuse onto the part when placed in the oven to cure. Unlike solvent-based wet paint, you cannot change the powder coating formulation in any way. It cannot be lightened or darkened by adding another powder. You’ve got to use it as it is formulated. Custom match colors are available but are very expensive and take several weeks to produce and must be purchase in a large quantity.
